On the evening of October 13, 2024, around 7:30 p.m., an attempted theft of a handbag occurred in a restaurant on Balduinstrasse in Zell. A previously unknown perpetrator came unnoticed via a side entrance into the interior of the restaurant.

As was reported, the perpetrator tried to escape with a stolen handbag. An attentive witness noticed the suspicious activities and provided the alleged thief. In an attack, the witness was able to get back the bag, but only for a short time: When the witness was distracted, the perpetrator took the opportunity and fled through the ancillary entrance.

The fleeting man was described as Polish and is about 25 to 30 years old. At the time of the incident, he wore black trousers and a blue and white training jacket. It is striking that this jacket could later be found and secured in a parking lot on the Moselle promenade. The investigation by the police is now focusing on receiving further information about the perpetrator.
