Free open-air fitness studio: Calisthenics station opened in Pirmasens!

Sportpark Husterhöhe, 66953 Pirmasens, Deutschland - The city of Pirmasens has opened a new fitness hotspot! In the Husterhöhe sports park, sports enthusiasts can now train free of charge at a brand new Calisthenics facility. This open-air fitness studio was launched for an impressive 27,000 euros, which is open to anyone who wants to steep their muscles.

The idea comes from the SPD, which originally planned a station on the Eisweiher. But sports director Denis Clauer pointed out that this would have made no sense. "It would have had no benefit on the ice pond," said Clauer. Instead, the facility was realized in the Husterhöhe sports park, where numerous sports clubs are already active. The "movement manager" Tim Ruhstorfer convinced those responsible from the meaningfulness of this decision. Thanks to the "Land in motion" program of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Sports, some of the costs were covered, while the Rheinberger Foundation took over the remaining amount.

The new Calisthenics station offers everything the athlete's heart desires! Jochen Borchert, administrator of the “Land in motion” project, emphasizes that the system combines health care with community and participation. With long opening times from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., the offer is extremely low -threshold and accessible to everyone. "Where would such a station be better off than in the sports park?" Asks Mayor Markus Zwick and sees the facility as a perfect addition to the clubs.

calisthenics, a term that comes from the Greek and means "strength" and "beauty", has its origins in New York in the 2000s. Athletes trained here free of charge and together. The Pirmasens facility comprises on 90 square meters of bars, rings, jumping bench and stretching rods - everything you need for effective training with your own body weight!
