Erasmus exchange: Students dance for inclusion in Zweibrücken!

An exciting adventure for students of IGS Daniel Theysohn Waldfischbach-Burgalben! On Thursday they visited the Kimmle Foundation in Zweibrücken, where they came together with Erasmus exchange students from Italy and Spain. Ten students explored the foundation, while twelve others were active in the Kimmle workshop in Pirmasens. The atmosphere was electrifying when the visitors danced and exchanged.

Judith, one of the participants, was enthusiastic about dancing. Together with her colleagues - Markus, Jürgen, Wolfgang, Charlotte, Thomas and Martin - she was allowed to dance with a swing cloth in the gym. "We regularly play movement games to loosen up our employees' working attitude," said the movement specialist. Instead of modern music, hits sounded that heated up the mood. Here people with and without disabilities met and experienced an unforgettable time.

film project about inclusion

For many of the exchange students, this was the first contact with people with a handicap. The Kimmle Foundation employs 110 people with various restrictions in a laundry and several packaging groups. Monika Weber-Neef, who works in the social service, acts as an important interface between the supervisors and the employees. During the visit, a student filmed with a tablet to create a film about the topic of "less inequality, participation, equal opportunities as well as social and political inclusion". This is part of your one -week project with the exchange students.

The day was filled with exciting activities: in addition to a tour of the Kimmle workshops, there was also lunch together and an event about faith and religion. IGS teacher Stefanie Müller translated for the Spanish and Italian students, who were visibly impressed by the impressions. The exchange students stayed in Waldfischbach-Burgalben until Saturday before going to Spain and Italy for German hosts in spring. While the stay in Germany was revolving, the topic of environmental protection is dealt with in Spain. The exact plans for Italy have not yet been determined.
