On December 20, 2023, the era of the blocksberg Stehcafé will end. After over two decades, owner Elke Rothhaar serves her very last coffee with a heavy heart. An emotional farewell to the committed entrepreneur, who has been on her feet at dawn together with her husband Wolfgang for years. Health problems force the couple to take this step after they were serving their loyal customers for years.

The early bird catches the coffee!

Until the opening, it is a quick handling to provide fresh croissants, sandwiches and other delicacies-that makes the small but fine café oasis in the Blocksberg so popular. The mixture of freshly brewed coffee, cappuccino and latte macchiato attracts the early risers who quickly need a snack before work. Whether at the standing tables for the connoisseurs or for the hurry, the bags and cups are ready.

The future of the café remains uncertain! Maybe a new tenant will continue the tradition? The regular guests hope for this, because many have been loyal to the Blocksberg since the opening in 2002. The closure is a bitter loss for the local community, which receives more than just a quick coffee here - it is a meeting point, a piece of home.
