Classic sounds at the end of the year: Flute concert inspires in Bachem!

On December 29, 2024, a festive concert with flute music sounds took place in the Sankt Anna Kapelle in Bachem. Organized by the Kapellenverein Bachem e.V., the flutist Britta Bauer and pianist Harald David Meyer performed. The concert started at 6 p.m. and offered the audience an impressive program that included both classic and modern works.

Britta Bauer, a flute virtuoso from Salzburg and lecturer at the Mozarteum, as well as Harald David Meyer, known for his versatile accompaniment and soloper formances, opened the evening with classic pieces by renowned composers. The repertoire included Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Concert for Flute & Orchestra G major, KV 313" and "Flute quartet D major, KV 285", and Johann Sebastian Bach "Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248".

In addition, the musicians presented works by Antonio Vivaldi, including the famous "Four Seasons", and Georges Bizets "Entr’acte" from the opera "Carmen". Modern pieces also found their place in the program, such as Hiromi Uehara's "Wake Up and Dream", Yiruma's "River Flows in You", Ennio Morricones "Gabriels Oboe" and John Williams' "Schindler's List".

The moderation took over Britta Bauer, who led the audience through the evening. The performance of the two artists was harmonious and was taken up with great enthusiasm. The evening ended with a "Christmas medley I" and "Christmas Medley II", arranged by Harald David Meyer, who promptly asked the audience. The concert ended with standing ovation of the audience.

This successful event was part of the traditional chapel concerts in Sankt Anna Bachem, who are to be continued in 2025. The concert promised a musical experience for every taste and touched the hearts and souls of those present. Britta Bauer, born in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler in 1972, made a name for herself not only through her flute technology, but also as a musicologist. Harald David Meyer, who is also active as a teacher at the Mayen-Koblenz district music school, enjoyed broad musical training and was among others a cantor in Andernach.
