Funding for important projects: District strengthens community life!
In an important initiative, the district of Mainz-Bingen promoted eleven demography projects. These measures aim to counter the challenges caused by demographic change and to improve the quality of life in the region. All requested subsidies have been fully approved, which is a positive signal for the commitment in the community.
Almut Schultheiß-Lehn, the district's deputy, expressed their thanks to everyone involved: "My special thanks go to all people who are involved in this area and thus work on solutions for the demographic challenges here in the district." The projects include numerous innovative approaches to promote and support community life.
diverse projects for the municipality
A remarkable project that has received support is the Maltese Hospice Service St. Hildegard/Malteser Hilfsdienst, which carries out a workshop. Here, volunteers can learn how they can systematically look after patients and their environment. In addition, the Carpe Diem senior park in Waldalgesheim will be able to create a meeting and reading space with a bookcase in its public green area through financial resources. This not only promotes reading pleasure, but also the exchange among the seniors.
The municipality of Dorn-Dürkheim will introduce a village app that pursues the goal of improving communication and transparency within the village. The local community of Lörzweiler receives support for a course on osteoporosis and pelvic floor, which is intended to ensure that the population is optimally informed and cared for. In addition, the city of Oppenheim receives funds for a demography workshop, which promotes citizen participation in the further development of the place.
There is special attention to the projects of three carriers, which are promoted twice. The family center of the city of Nierstein receives grants for the Demenzcafé Klub confetti, a weekly meeting point, and for the multi -generation dance project "Du and I". Furthermore, the Mainz-Bingen district college is supported: The “Future Table 2030” serves to develop visions for the regions and the “Language Worlds” project promotes intercultural understanding and language learning. The Nieder-Olm family center is also subsidized twice, for the "generation café" and the training exchange for babysitters and senior helpers.
background of the funding initiative
The demography funding program has proven to be an important instrument to adapt the infrastructures of the district to demographic developments. It is essential to keep the circle attractive for young families and at the same time expand the offers for people with disabilities. This support helps to ensure that the district remains a livable place that meets the needs of its inhabitants.
The initiative not only shows the appreciation of the district for local commitment, but also the endeavor to proactively counter the demographic challenges. With targeted measures, an attempt is made to strengthen the sense of community and to involve all generations in the development process.
