Future at the KFD: New elections and statutory reform in Homburg!
Future at the KFD: New elections and statutory reform in Homburg!
In a breathtaking ambience in the Cardinal Wendel House in Homburg, the KFD autumn diocesan assembly has set the course for the future! In the new elections, Monika Schmidt, who is characterized by decades of commitment to the KFD, and Christine Jellinek, who volunteers, unanimously voted in the world prayer work, unanimously in leading positions. Schmidt takes over the office of spiritual director at diocesan level, while Jellinek takes on the role of the deputy diocesan leaders - a fresh wind blows through the rows of the KFD!
A revolutionary step towards modernization
The KFD does not leave time to make itself sustainable! A new statute was decided after two years of intensive work by a dedicated committee. The most important changes are the creation of "regions" for effective exchange and the elimination of the outdated dean's model. In the future, the voting members of the diocesan assembly will be based directly on delegates from the local communities. This represents a crucial step towards modernization, in that the line can now take place on different levels in the team. However, the final approval by Bishop Wiesemann is still pending!
But while new beginnings are celebrated, an era came to an end: Christa Kuhn, Gertrud Schwartz, Monika Kissel and Uschi König, all of the long -time and proven volunteers, were ceremoniously adopted. Kuhn looks back on impressive 15 years in the KFD diocesan management team, while Schwartz campaigned for 14 years to introduce digital innovations. Their outstanding projects have left traces in the association, from membership acquisitions to spiritual offers that have strengthened women! A creative celebration with theater, dance and music praised her enormously committed work and offered a warm farewell to these tireless women!
