Schumacher comeback? Cadillac plans Formula 1 future with Mick!
The next chapter in Mick Schumacher's motorsport career could be opened soon, because Cadillac is planning its entry into Formula 1 in 2026. According to Mario Andretti, the team supervisory board of Cadillac, Schumacher will be considered as a possible driver. "Many drivers are considered. We keep all the options open," said Andretti in an interview with the German Press Agency. By 2025, however, the son of the seven -time world champion Michael Schumacher has no prospect of a regular cockpit in Formula 1 and ended his job as a replacement pilot at Mercedes. Instead, the 25-year-old focuses on the long-distance world championship with Alpine. The Rheinpfalz reported .
Schumacher's future in Formula 1
Another reason for Schumacher's hope of returning to the premier class of motorsport could be his new role at Cadillac. The American racing team wants to put an experienced driver to the side of its presumably majority driver Colton Herta. While Schumacher's pathous path has so far consisted of several setbacks, including cancellations of Audi/Sauber, the former Formula 1 driver Jochen Neerpasch continues to see potential in him. "Mick should first concentrate on the World Cup sports car," said Neerpasch, and emphasizes that Schumacher's future achievements could be crucial for his comeback in Formula 1. "It is definitely much better than it was shown by some," explains Neerpasch. The West reports .
Time is urging, however, because Mick Schumacher has always felt the high pressure of competition in Formula 1. The name Schumacher was of great importance in the past, and the team Cadillac will have to be strategic when choosing the driver to find the right mix of experience and talent. With the official announcement of Cadillac, a new era for Formula 1 is announced, in which Schumacher could play a crucial role if there is the possibility.
