From January 2024, there will be a pleasant surprise for the customers of Stadtwerke Kusel: The consumption award for natural gas drops by 2.08 cents! Sebastian Koch, authorized representative of the Stadtwerke, confirmed this in a conversation with the Rheinpfalz. This price reduction applies to all the company's tariffs and brings a breath of fresh air to households that had to deal with high prices.
strategic change for lower prices
Koch explains that the municipal utilities were already confronted with high prices this year. In order to reduce the costs, the procurement has been changed: instead of 18-month delivery contracts, you now rely on 36 months. "This long -term activity has a positive effect on gas prices for customers," says Koch. Customers will be informed about the adaptation in the coming days and can look forward to a noticeable relief.
It is particularly noteworthy that this price reduction is possible despite increasing network charges and higher CO2 prices. The natural gas of the municipal utility mainly comes from Scandinavia, supplemented by deliveries from North America, Belgium and even from German funding.
