Bitter defeat for HSG Schwarzen-Kusel: 23:24 against Marpingen!

The HSG Schwarzen-Kusel handball club had to surrender to the DJK Marpingen 2 with 23:24 in the third season game of the A-Liga Ost. This was the first defeat for the team. The game took place in an exciting atmosphere and ended with a narrow result that the two teams kept in suspense up to the last minute.

At the beginning of the game, the HSG presented itself significantly improved compared to its last appearance in Marpingen when it could only compete with seven players. This time the bank was well filled, which made an aggressive way of play possible. Both teams showed strong defensive performance, which caused a tight 11:11 draw in the first half.

tension until the end

In the second phase of the game, the duel remained highly competitive. In the 44th minute, the HSG set out for the first time with three goals (17:14), but the DJK Marpingen quickly steered the game in the other and soon led 20:18. However, the HSG did not stop this from compensating for them again and again. When the game at the age of 22:22 turned onto the home straight, the Marpinger were able to increase to 24:22 by two goals in a row. Only a connection goal for the guests before the home team routinely runks for the last seconds.

Although the HSG has lost, it remains at the top of the A-Liga East. A positive argument, albeit discouraging, since the loss is painfully noticeable. The next home game will take place on Saturday against HSG Werschweiler-St. Wendel instead.
