on November 14, 2024 at exactly 4:30 p.m. on the B49 towards Koblenz there was a spectacular accident that temporarily brought the street to a standstill. A vehicle slipped out of the lane and scraped several guardrails along the left side. The shock: Fortunately, the driver was unharmed! However, the car was no longer ready to drive and had to be towed.

The B49 was completely closed at short notice due to the necessary towing process and a thorough cleaning of the road. Despite the dramatic circumstances, traffic on the other two lanes could continue to flow relatively normally, which prevented painful traffic jams and long waiting times. The situational traffic impairments were limited, and at 5:25 p.m. the road was completely released for all road users.
