Decisions for the community clinic: a year of the course!

2024 is considered a decisive year for the Community Clinic Middle Rhine (GKM). Political actors are faced with several million decisions. In July 2024, the district of Mayen-Koblenz and the city of Koblenz would like to present their plans for the renovation of the GKM. District Administrator Alexander Saftig (CDU) and Mayor David Langner (SPD) will present the strategic plans of the press. In another context, the opening of the Rhein-Lahn Hospice in Nassau, which attracted over 500 visitors. Visitors came from the Rhein-Lahn district and beyond to take part in this important event. The project was made possible by donations from individuals, companies and foundations. Words of thanks went to the G. and I. Leifkeitfoundung, the Else-Schütz Foundation and the Löwenstein Family Foundation. The hospice is looked after by a multi -professional team that consists of two palliative care doctors and 17 nursing staff. Church greetings were brought up by Maike Kniese and District Dean Armin Sturm. The opening was musically framed by a performance on the harp by Elke Steltner. Dr. Josef Peter Mertes wished the hospice to be a place of humanity and care. Mayor Manuel Liguori assured the city and council support. District Administrator Jörg Denninghoff thanked everyone involved and expressed hope for consolation for the guests. The symbolic handover of the construction manager Michael entirely to Hanne Benz rounded off the opening ceremony. Dennis Flosdorff appealed to the willingness to donate and volunteering, while visitors expressed positive impressions about the hospice.
