Mehlingen, Deutschland - A festival for bird lovers: The Kaiserslautern Canaria Breeding and Vogel Protection Association invites you to the Great Bird Show! On November 30th and December 1st, the Mehlinger multi-purpose hall becomes the setting for a spectacular bird event. Here the members of the association, which has existed since 1894, present their magnificent feathered friends. From domestic species such as finches and cathedral monkeys to exotic birds - the variety is breathtaking!

Angelika Herbel-Zott, the committed club chairman, describes the anticipation on the show: "When I get into the aviary after work, it is pure pure for me. It's like yoga." The birds who live in large aviaries are trained in special cages before the show to present themselves optimally. "Birds who don't know that are not so good for the judge," she explains. But even the best birds sometimes have their bad days - and that is the thrill of the show!

a top -class competition

The state association show will be a real spectacle! While vocal chants are not in focus, the birds are fighting for championship sharpen in different categories. "We are a small, fine club and very committed," emphasizes Herbel-Zott proudly. Supported by the surrounding local associations, the show becomes a highlight for all bird retirement. Over 500 to 600 birds are expected and admission is free!

The Canaria breeding and bird protection association is not only committed to breeding, but also actively for bird protection. "We look after nesting boxes in the forests and offer workshops for children," says Herbel-Zott. Here the little ones learn how to support nature. A visit to the bird's show is not only a festival for the eyes, but also an opportunity to learn more about the protection of our feathered friends!
