Electricity prices explode in the Palatinate: up to 118 cents per kWh!
Kaiserslautern, Deutschland - electricity prices shoot up! On Wednesday, November 6th, customers with dynamic tariffs in the Palatinate had to dig deep into their pockets for their electricity. The provider "Tibber", known for its dynamic electricity prices, reported an average price of around 47 cents per kilowatt hour. But that's just the tip of the iceberg! Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. the prices literally exploded: In Kaiserslautern, consumers had to pay an incredible 117 cents per kilowatt hour, while in Ludwigshafen there were even 118 cents!
price shock for consumers
The prices for tibber customers in Kaiserslautern were around 27 cents and 28 cents per kilowatt hour on the annual average. The current price increases are alarming and are mainly caused by a decline in yields from renewable energies. According to the Federal Network Agency, this delivered only a third of the electricity generated in Germany on Tuesday. Consumers face a challenge, because the dynamic tariffs that regularly adapt to the market price will be mandatory for all providers from 2025.
A real wake -up call for all power customers! If you are not careful, you could soon be confronted with even higher bills. The development on the European Spotmarkt shows how Volatil can be prices. The time to act is now!
