Kusel relies on the sun: photovoltaic expansion for green energy future!

Kusel, Deutschland - The Society for Renewable Energies (GE) has big plans! Managing Director Bernd Bohn announces: "We want to expand our commitment in the field of photovoltaics!" The company, which is a cooperation between the city of Kusel, the municipality of Kusel-Altenglan and WVE GmbH from Kaiserslautern, is based on roof and, above all, open space systems to drive the solar energy in the region.

The WVE GmbH, known for the development of construction areas and the marketing of commercial areas, is also active in the area of renewable energies. Bohn, who is also the technical director of Stadtwerke Kusel, emphasizes that the GEE is already operating a photovoltaic system on the roof of Lebenshilfe in Kuseler Bahnhofstrasse. Together with Ingo Nonnenmacher from WVE, GEE plans to massively expand solar energy in the region.

While wind power is currently not in focus due to the high investment sums, Bohn sees great potential in photovoltaic systems on open spaces. He is in close contact with the Kusel-Altenglan association administration to find suitable locations for the new facilities. "We will not only limit ourselves to the center of the district," promises Bohn. In the coming year, the expansion of photovoltaics is to be promoted with full strength on roofs and open spaces.
