Breast health in focus: action day inspires women in the town hall!

In Kaiserslautern, an action day for breast health has attracted great attention. Charlotte Lisador, a person who has had experience with breast cancer himself, was involved from the start to bring in her expertise.

The day took place in the town hall and began with a lecture by Professor Jörg Heil, a specialist from the Heidelberg breast center. There he spoke about the importance of early detection and diagnostic possibilities for breast cancer. The large council hall was filled to the last seat, which underlined the relevance of the topic. Lisador, who was also operated on, was pleased with the great interest. It was particularly noteworthy that even colleagues from the field were present.

practical information with workshops

In addition to the lectures, there were practical workshops, which were led by senior physician Andrea Strasser from the women's clinic at the West Palatinate Clinic. Here the participants were able to learn on silicone models how they can really score their breasts. Almost twenty women discovered hidden nodes, which illustrated the importance of self -awareness. These practical exercises are intended to help reduce fears and to promote knowledge of self -examination.

For those who could not personally participate, the city internal offer offered a digital lecture that provided comprehensive information about risk factors and the importance of early detection. Health levels and organizations such as German Cancer Aid were also on site to provide further information. Lisador found that the topic of breast health is often accompanied by shame and fear. Many women expressed concerns about mammography and the associated pain. Their goal was to create confidence in medical examinations in order to persuade as many women as possible to provide regular provision.

"It was nice to see that so many women showed interest," said Lisador. The event was not only informative, but also a step in the right direction to promote dialogue about breast health and thus to raise awareness in the community. The commitment of Charlotte Lisador and the organizers has shown that education and openness are crucial in order to reduce fears and to encourage women to examine it.
