On Friday, November 15th, the elementary school students of the Kottenschule experienced a very special event: The nationwide reading day under the motto "Reading the Future" brought the youth director Anja Pfeiffer into her classrooms! With a bright smile and an exciting book in her hand, she read the captivating story "Ida and the Flying Wal" by Rebecca Gugger and Simon Röthlisberger to the small listeners. The children were banned when the little Ida was kidnapped on an adventurous journey with a flying whale!

The excitement was tangible when the deputy not only read the story, but also talked to the children about history. Together with the class teacher, they discussed the content of the book and the children had the opportunity to breastfeed their curiosity with many questions. "Reading reads the imagination, promotes language development and the ability to concentrate," said Pfeiffer enthusiastically. She emphasized how important it is to convey the joy of reading to children and thus lay a foundation for their education and future opportunities.
