Büsra Lenz triumphed: new migration advisory board for Germersheim!

Germersheim, Deutschland - Germersheim - an election victory that could mix up the city! At the election for the Germersheim Advisory Board for Migration and Integration on November 10, 2024, Büsra Lenz conquered first place with impressive 445 votes. The FWG City Councilor Armin Lutzke warmly congratulated her and emphasized the immense importance of the advisory board, which represents the voices of the citizens with a migration background in Germersheim and promotes intercultural cooperation. "A committed and independent advisory board is indispensable for diversity and living together in our city," says Lutzke.

The turnout was a real ray of hope: at 10.7 percent it almost doubled compared to the last election! This shows the growing interest of the Germersheim population in migration and integration. Despite the attempts of individual AfD members to influence the work of the committee, the influence was unsuccessful. In addition to Lenz, Yüksel Battal and Lütfi Ünal also achieved remarkable results with 400 votes. Hilal Ayse Halici reached 360 votes, Ahmed Yasin ünal 330 and Olga Lenk 307 votes. A total of 1,076 of the 10,086 voters made their vote.

The new advisory board and its challenges

The advisory board consists of a total of nine members, including three, which are elected by the city council at the proposal of the political groups. Lutzke is optimistic that the newly occupied advisory board will make a decisive contribution to integration and social cohesion in Germersheim. The challenges are great, but with a strong team at the top, the city could look at an exciting future!
