Weinlese 2024: Moselle-Winz defy stubbing-quality convinced!
Enkirch, Deutschland - landslide changes for the Moselle winemakers! The wine harvest in 2024 has turned out to be the smallest in the past five decades! A devastating frost in April, followed by a massive hailstorm in May and incessant heavy rain with harmful mushroom diseases until shortly before the harvest - all of these disasters have made life in the Moselle and Saar region.
But despite these bitter setbacks, the winemakers get away with a blue eye. The harvest may be small, but the quality of the grapes is right! Henning Seibert, the chairman of the Mosel wine association, is optimistic and explains at the balance sheet press conference: "The quality is good, it is a cabinet and late reading year." This means that the few grapes that have been harvested promise exceptional taste experiences that wine lovers will put in rapture!
a year of extreme
The capsoles of the weather clearly left their mark. Nevertheless, the winemakers hope that the excellent quality of their harvest will make the lack of quantity more than to make up for. It remains to be seen whether these claims will meet, but one thing is certain: the Moselle wines of the 2024 vintage could soon become an insider tip among connoisseurs. The customers of the Moselle wines can therefore be excited to see what this turbulent vintage has to offer!
