Cochem-Zell, Deutschland - An exciting school competition caused a sensation in the Cochem-Zell district! Under the motto "Of course sustainable - earlier and today", children and adolescents presented their creative ideas for sustainability. The district administration launched this competition in early summer to show the commitment of schools in this important area. Now the four best projects have been awarded prices!

The Sparkasse Mittelmosel - Eifel Mosel Hunsrück has provided generous 1,000 euros in prize money to promote the implementation of school projects. The submissions were impressive and showed how seriously the schools deal with the topic of sustainability. The award -winning projects are a fascinating example of the diversity with which students tackle the topic.

The winners in detail

  • Realschule plus Vulkaneifel Ulmen/Lutzerath: Class 5 receives 500 euros for your project. The students examined amphibians and insects at the school pond and developed measures against water pollution.
  • integrated comprehensive school Zell: The 6th grade is awarded 250 euros for your film about sustainable use of resources that you created from interviews with your grandparents.
  • elementary school St. Sebastianus Ellenz-Polersdorf: 125 euros for a climate-neutral breakfast that was organized together with the local daycare center to raise awareness of regional food.
  • integrated comprehensive school Zell: class 7a and 7c also receive 125 euros for the establishment of a "green classroom", which serves as an additional learning room outdoors.

These outstanding projects not only show the commitment of the students, but also the importance of sustainability in education. The award ceremony is a strong sign of the future and the awareness of the next generation for our environment!
