From June 6th to August 9th, the Limburg monastery ruin in Bad Dürkheim becomes the scene of a spectacular cultural program that is unparalleled in the region. The “Limburg Sommer” series of events promises a variety of attractions, including concerts, theater performances, comedy and open-air cinema screenings. On July 2, 2025, however, the focus is on a very special event: the children's opera "Papageno and the Magic Flute". This magical performance takes place at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and takes the spectators into the famous world of magic flute that fascinates both children and adults.

The story of Papageno and Pamina

The action revolves around the happy couple Papageno and Papagena, who live with their children - the papagenis. These little adventurers are enthusiastic about their parents' love story, which ends in "The Magic Flute". In this classic story, good and bad powers are opposed to: the daughter of the Queen of the Night, Pamina, is kidnapped by Prince Sarastro, with the help of Tamino, which is sent to a dangerous rescue mission.
