Traffic chaos in Bad Breisig: urgent relief for residents!

Bad Breisig, Deutschland - Bad Breisig in the traffic chaos! The federal road 9, one of the most frequented streets in the Ahrweiler district, raises alarm! An incredible 22,000 vehicles race here every day - and the number continues! At a explosive on-site appointment with the CDU MEP Mechthild Heil and Petra Schneider, initiated by City Councilor Guido Ernst, the oppressive traffic situation in Bad Breisig was urgently discussed. Together with city and association mayor Marcel Caspers and the 1st district deputy Horst Gies, everyone agreed: this way, it cannot go on- a relief is urgently necessary!

The city council Bad Breisig gave the administration the clear order to include the “Bad Breisig inhabitant” in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan (BVWP). However, the answer of the state company Mobility (LBM) is a double -edged sword. For procedural reasons, admission to the current BVWP 2030 is no longer possible, which could reduce hope for a solution by 2040. Nevertheless, the LBM agrees that the relief for Bad Breisig is essential. Over 70 percent of the daily vehicle movements are through traffic, and heavy -duty traffic is even over 80 percent - an alarming sign for residents!

politicians are committed!

Mechthild Heil calls for a fundamental turnaround after the Bundestag election 2025 so that residents will finally be heard on federal traffic routes. In Bad Breisig, where numerous urban functions are located along the B9, the stress due to noise and emissions is unbearable. Her colleague Petra Schneider demands that the state of Rhineland-Palatinate also stand up for the urgently needed measure. Together with the mayor and local politics in Bad Breisig, the deputies are vehemently committed to a solution. The pressure grows - the time for changes is now!
