Huge housing promotion in Mülheim: 29.5 million euros for new apartments!
Huge housing promotion in Mülheim: 29.5 million euros for new apartments!
Recently, the fifth working meeting of the "Alliance for Living in Mülheim an der Ruhr" took place, in which representatives of the city administration, the housing industry, the political scene and social institutions came together. Deputy Dr. Daniela Grobe and Felix Blasch as well as the board of the MWB, Dominik Steffan, warmly welcomed everyone present in the business premises of the MWB.
At the beginning of the meeting, a significant funding amount of 29.5 million euros was announced for a residential construction project of the SWB on Filchnerstrasse. Oliver Ahrweiler, the managing director of the SWB, accepted a symbolic check by Felix Blasch and Sabine Pötters, head of department for living space funding. This financial support is used to create 126 new subsidized apartments at Filchnerstraße 2 to 26b.
Details on the housing project
The project is implemented in a first construction phase and is divided into different types of apartments:
- 50 residential units belong to income group A, with an approved rent of 7.40 euros per square meter per month.
- 37 residential units are in income group B, with an approved rent of 8.55 euros per square meter per month, with the income limit lying 40% above that of group A.
- 39 residential units are offered by means of indirect support, in which everyone interested can move in at the market price that is customary in the market. Here is the rental price bond on other SWB apartments, which will continue to be preserved as a discounted living space in Mülheim.
This variety of living options reflects the requirements of the state government to ensure that the promotion of broad layers of the population benefits and a mixed tenant structure is funded in the district.
In view of the rapidly increasing construction costs,It is becoming increasingly difficult for companies such as the SWB to launch rental apartments at an acceptable price. The country's allocation is therefore essential to realize such important projects. However, the session was not only about the funding commitments, but also around the action concept living in 2024 for Mülheim.
The main goal of this concept is to offer the future and current residents of Mülheim a suitable living space. The different needs in different price segments should be taken into account in order to secure the city as an attractive place to live.
The city of Mülheim has already cushioned a decline in subsidized apartments through the committed cooperation with housing construction companies and the responsible specialist offices of the city administration. These efforts should continue to be continued in the future, which could be supported by a so -called "global budget" for housing subsidies. But the implementation of the action concept is crucial for this.
The completion of this important concept is expected towards the end of October, so that the political committees of the Social and Planning Committee can be informed in November. These developments are essential for future living space design in Mülheim, as they pave the way for further necessary housing activities.
