970 million euros for reconstruction: flood areas bloom again!
In an impressive step to restore the regions affected by the flood, the Supervisory and Service Directorate (ADD) in Rhineland-Palatinate approved around 970 million euros in funding for municipal reconstruction. Add President Thomas Linntz announced that around 580 million euros have already been paid to the responsible measures. These funds come from the reconstruction fund, which was provided by the federal and state governments, and should restore the urgently needed infrastructure in the affected communities.
massive funds for the district of Ahrweiler
It is particularly noteworthy that almost 905 million euros in the Ahrweiler district were approved for reconstruction measures, of which around 555 million euros are already paid. In other municipal areas that have also suffered from the flood, 51 million euros in permits are compared to 27 million euros in funding paid. The ADD is responsible for the approval of these reconstruction aids, which are used for essential infrastructures such as schools, kindergartens, town halls, sports fields and streets. The restoration costs are funded with up to 100 percent from the reconstruction fund, which offers the municipalities a solid financial basis for reconstruction.
The progress in reconstruction are remarkable, says Linnertz, who praised the efforts of everyone involved. "The reconstruction of the municipal infrastructure is progressing with the highest commitment of everyone involved," he emphasized, referring to the basic work that has already been completed and planning new facilities such as kindergartens and schools. The supervisory and service directorate plays a central role in this process by ensuring that the funds are used efficiently and the affected communities quickly get back on their feet.
