Revolution in construction: LBO reform accelerates living space acquisition!
The Baden-Württemberg cabinet has set decisive course today for a faster and simpler construction. Minister of construction Nicole Razavi described the reform of the state building regulations (LBO) as an important step to fundamentally change building in the country. "My goal was to change the system from 'control' to 'enable' and finally to solve braking when building," said Razavi. The reform stipulates that methods for building permit are significantly simplified and accelerated. With the introduction of an approval fiction that comes into force after three months, many building applications are automatically approved if all the necessary documents are available, according to the minister. Furthermore, the previously strict building forms are to be screwed down in order to optimize the creation of living space and to better use environmentally friendly buildings, as on mlw.baden-wuerttemberg.de
strengthening existing protection and simplifications in conversion
The planned reform also strengthens the existing protection of buildings. User changes must not be subjected to the strict requirements of fire protection, which has often led to high costs. "Building in the existence should be simplified and strengthened," said the Minister of Construction. This also includes that, if the buildings are not larger, a deviation from the distance regulations should be allowed. The changes could help to alleviate the lack of living space by not only being able to use existing residential buildings, but also non-residential buildings for residential purposes. This comprehensive regulation will help to better exploit the potential in the existing building structure, reported Stm.baden-wuerttemberg.de .
