Foster families under pressure: We really invest so much time!

Baierbrunn, Deutschland - The nursing industry is faced with an alarming problem: Almost three out of ten adults in Germany are currently in the nursing service for relatives or have done so in the past two years. No wonder that the challenge is getting bigger! A survey of the pharmacies Umschau showed clear figures that are terrifying: around forty percent of caring relatives weekly up to ten hours, while another thirty percent even apply up to twenty hours for care. These enormous time expenditure show the pressing necessity of support!

The effects on the professional activity of the relatives are also alarming. Over a quarter of the respondents have reduced their working hours due to the duties of care, and a whopping 15 percent even had to hire their activities completely! This raises the question: How long can this unsustainable situation be maintained? Every second person can imagine taking care of care in the general population, but the shock message remains that the costs for professional services can either be too high or unaccountable.

The urgently needed remedies from the lack of personnel in care could arise from the recruitment of foreign workers, including refugees from Ukraine. But that's not enough! In order to regain well over 300,000 nurses who have given up their jobs due to the high loads, the working conditions must be drastically improved. Experts confirm that many of them would be willing to return to the industry if the situation was more inviting.

The pharmacies Umschau emphasizes the urgency of the situation and the need to relieve relatives. The goal must be an effective and sustainable care system in which both people in need of care and their families receive the support that they need!
