Parking fees increase: now 10 euros for 24 hours!
Göttingen. A shock for drivers! The parking fees at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) have risen drastically! From November 1st, visitors, patients and students will have to dig deep into their pockets, as UmG spokeswoman Lena Bösch confirms. The new prices are a real excitement!
If you want to park your car on the visitor parking lot, you now have to pay 70 cents for every half an hour that has started - a full increase of 20 cents! And that's not all: the maximum daily fee for 24 hours has risen from 8 euros to 10 euros! A real tailor for everyone who rely on the AM.
UMG justifies the price increase
Bösch explains the price increase with the increased costs for parking management. "Unfortunately, parking management has become more expensive in recent years, which is why a price adjustment was necessary to compensate for the increased costs," said the spokeswoman. But the drivers are anything but enthusiastic!
The parking machines continue to issue change, but what happens when the money becomes scarce? Bösch informs that in this case the machine prints a voucher document that can be redeemed at the cash register of the parking center. Many readers of the tablet were surprised by this practice and first had to ask where they could redeem their vouchers. "The change is checked daily and refilled if necessary," says Bösch. Cashless payment with an EC card is also possible at the west and east entrances. But the question remains: How long can drivers endure these increasing costs?
