According to a recent survey by Reppublika on behalf of the trade association, the Austrians spend an average of 126 euros for New Year's Eve. In Vienna, expenses at 139 euros per person are the highest. While Styria and Carinthia remain the most economical at around 112 euros, the dealers are optimistic that around 10 percent of the Christmas business will be generated in these final days of the year. In contrast, a survey in Germany shows that the citizens are concerned about the new year 2025. 63 percent of the respondents expressed fears about the upcoming challenges, which represents an increase of 4 percent compared to the previous year, as the DPA-AFX reports. The reasons for this concern are diverse: wars, climate change, economic uncertainties and continuing inflation concern people and contribute to the growing dissatisfaction with the crisis management of politics.
