Unrest at the BSW: Board elections threaten to burst before choice of citizens!

unrest and ambiguities characterize the Hamburg Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) in the preparatory phase for the election of the citizens' election on March 2, 2025. The BSW regional association, which took place shortly before Christmas, is surrounded by internal conflicts and legal doubts. The BSW is now planning the repetition of the board elections to clarify possible legal uncertainties, such as taz reported.

At the "establishment assembly" of the BSW on December 21, there were complaints about the handling of the event, which some party members considered not public. Despite initial problems with access to the meeting, two candidates who were one of the BSW rebels who had previously founded a national association were allowed to speak. The state election manager found that it was a party -internal event and that no party members were excluded from access. The new doubts about the statutes of the BSW were classified as irrelevant, since the BSW federal executive board did not recognize the state association of December 15th. The election office sees the legal requirements for the election proposal as fulfilled and considers the risk of contestation of the choice to be low.

Within the BSW, the member and critic dejan Lazic expresses concerns about the statutes. Lazic plans to collect votes against the current course of the BSW at the Federal Party Congress on January 12th and will then decide on his further membership.
