Heinz-Peter Knoop: Farewell to Burscheid and restart in Solingen!

Burscheid. The time of farewell is seaming for Heinz-Peter Knoop, who is planning in his home in Löh after over twenty years in his home town to return. So the 76-year-old had indicated it in an interview in summer with the Bergisches Volksboten. Now it is time to separate from many of his works of art, including a variety of sculptures, sketches and graphics.

The sculptor is known not only for its art in the region, but also for its role in the cultural association. Despite the upcoming move, Knoop acts actively in front of him in art and would like to remain active in the Burscheid cultural association, even if the board recently announced not to compete in the next elections. "I can still support," says Knoop, underlines his unbroken enthusiasm.

commitment to the youth

In the past,

KNOOP has led workshops for children and adolescents who have been very well received by the participants. A particularly workshop will take place on October 16 and 17, supported by the Kulturpack NRW. "I really enjoy watching how the children change," he says, while talking about the positive effects of his art projects.

he remembers both his own childhood and his beginnings in art. "I carved with twelve first things," says Knoop and describes the long way he has covered. His parents were skeptical when he decided to attend an art school and be trained as an engraver to meet his parents' wishes after a solid training.

"I can slogish for a few days and do nothing. But then I have to go back to the studio. It is an inner urge," Knoop said to the media. It is crucial for him that his work has had a deep thoughts. Again and again he emphasizes that his thoughts are materialized in his work, which he does not create lightly.

new creative ways

Although he will live after moving to smaller and age -appropriate rooms, Knoop is not planning to stop with art. "After October I hope for new swing," he is sure. In the future, he will probably do smaller work, while at the same time he is devoting himself more intensively to write. "The word is the starting point of my artistic journey," explains the artist.

Knoop also plans to exhibit in his hometown of Solingen. His series "drops of human", which addresses human vulnerability compared to a drop of water, will be part of this exhibition. The sculptures in this series emphasize organic shapes and soft curves that establish a visual connection between humans and nature.

Musically, Knoop also becomes active; He wants to devote himself more to his guitar again. "I always like to sing," he says with a smile and remembers the band in which he played and wrote the lyrics himself. With a storyteller and singer, as he is, the music is part of his identity, which he does not want to ignore.

Knoop met many artists in his life before they became famous, including Reinhard Mey and Katja Ebstein, and he feels free in these creative moments. "The outer world disappears," he says, while he deepens into art and loses the time out of sight.

His creative processes are full of emotions and thoughts that he captures in the form of poems and texts. Knoop admits that he continues to travel both in his work and in his texts, always looking for the essence of his experiences and sensations. "Still learning through searching, although forgotten a lot ...", he describes his creative career and thus lets it look deep into his soul.

The visitors of his future exhibitions in Solingen can look forward to profound works, which are based on his ideas that have grown over decades. The anticipation for further artistic projects is noticeable, and Heinz-Peter Knoop remains an integral part of the art scene in the region, regardless of where his studio will now be.
