Wermelskirchen. A dramatic incident shaked the region! Just a few days after another e-scooter accident, there was a shocking collision between a pedestrian and an e-scooter on Thursday evening around 7.45 p.m. on Telegrafenstrasse. The driver of the e-scooter, who was traveling with another passenger, fled after the incident, which the traffic commissioner is now calling on the scene to determine the fleeting drivers and to find witnesses.
A 31-year-old Remscheider was slightly injured in the collision when the e-scooter driver overlooked him on the sidewalk. Despite the pedestrian's request to stop, the driver continued his journey. The police describe the two people on the e-scooter as male, about 16 to 17 years old, with a size of 160 to 170 cm and a narrow stature. The driver had short red-blonde hair and wore a black jogging suit and gray sports shoes. The second person was also dressed in a gray jogging suit and wore a black backpack with inscription.

Previously a 41-year-old e-scooter driver in Bergisch Gladbach was checked by the police and had a blood alcohol value of 2 per thousand. This led to criminal proceedings for drunkenness in traffic, which can be punished with up to one year of imprisonment or a fine. The police emphasize that e-scooter drivers are also subject to the same alcohol limit values as drivers, which means that there is already a criminal offense from 0.3 per thousand if symptoms are found.

The police asks possible witnesses and the volatile e-scooter drivers to contact the responsible traffic commissioner in Burscheid on 02202 205-0.
