Wiehl leads in the Upper Mountain: Maximum income per inhabitant!

Wiehl, Deutschland - Oberberg - The latest figures from the State Statistical Office show: The Wiehler have the thickest wallet in Oberbergische! In 2022, the available income per inhabitant in North Rhine-Westphalia rose by impressive 5.2 percent to 25,100 euros. This means that every citizen in NRW had an average of 1,235 euros more for consumption and saving than in the previous year. But the Wiehler outdo this average with a whopping 1,336 euros more in the pocket!

Cologne and Düsseldorf dominate the income statistics in NRW, with Cologne, where every inhabitant comes to 25,657 euros, and Düsseldorf with 29,355 euros. In the Oberberg district, a total income of 6.4 billion euros was reached, which brought the residents an average of 25,557 euros. But the Wiehler stabbed: With an available income of 30,105 euros, they take first place in the Oberberg and are nationwide in 31st place.

The differences in the Upper Mountain are enormous. While Wiehl is at the top, the district town of Gummersbach is in the back of the scale with 23,300 euros. Bergneustadt follows close to 23,200 euros, and the final lights form the city of Waldbröl with only 21,765 euros. Wiehl (+7.3 percent) and Engelskirchen (+7.2 percent) recorded the highest income growth, while Gummersbach had the lowest growth in Oberberg with an increase of only 5.4 percent. In comparison, Duisburg shows the lowest growth in all of North Rhine -Westphalia with +3.8 percent
