Rhein-Kreis Neuss gave away 1,000 climate trees-reserve free of charge from October 21!
In the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, an interesting initiative starts: the district gives 1,000 climate freight to the population. This is not the first time that this offer is provided, because it was very popular in the past three years. Citizens can choose from various types of fruit, including apple (Elstar and Boskoop), pear (good Luise), cherry (hedel finger giant cherry), mispile, apple quince as well as bird berry and amber tree. These trees are between 1.70 and 2 meters high and are delivered in pots so that they can be planted quickly.
The reservation of the trees begins on October 21 at 8 a.m. and is only available as long as the stock is enough. It is important to note that every household can only register for a tree. In addition, those interested have the opportunity to choose from four pick -up locations: Neuss, Grevenbroich, Kaarst and Korschenbroich. The collection takes place on four different appointments in November 2024.
a contribution to environmental protection
District Administrator Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke has underlined the importance of this campaign: "With this campaign, we want to create the opportunity for all citizens in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss to actively participate in environmental protection." The initiative aims to promote awareness of environmental protection and at the same time increase the quality of life of the citizens. Every newly planted tree has the potential to bind climate -damaging carbon dioxide and offers numerous animal species a habitat.
The planting of the trees requires compliance with legally prescribed distances to neighboring properties, which means that the area must be available. The growth heights play an important role here: While fruit trees can reach a height of up to 10 meters, the amber tree wire with heights between 10 and 30 meters and the bird berry can grow between 6 and 12 meters. However, growth can be regulated by a pruning, which is particularly advisable for the higher species.
Further information on the available tree species and the online order form will be provided via the official website from October 21 at 8 a.m. For all interested parties, this campaign not only offers the possibility of active participation in environmental protection, but also to create a greener living space in the region.
