Traffic chaos in Kerpen: Derirance and new stops from January!
in Kerpen begin extensive road and sewer work in Sindorfer Straße on Monday, January 6, 2025, which are expected to last about 14 months. These construction measures lead to significant changes in local public transport (public transport) of the Rhein-Erft-Verkehrsgesellschaft (REVG), such as ksta reported.
The access to Jahnplatz from Sindorfer Strasse has been completely closed since the end of November. In the course of the construction work, Sindorfer Straße will only be driven south on a section of around 400 meters. The changes implemented since January 6 concern several bus lines, including SB92, 911, 920, 933, 964 and 966 as well as individual trips to lines 922 and 955 (only to the north).
important diversions and replacement stops
The “Kerpen Rathaus” stop is no longer served, instead a replacement stop is set up on the “Alte Landstrasse”. For lines 911, 920, 933 and 966 towards Sindorf/Horrem, the “Kerpen Europaviertel” and “District Court” stops are also approached.
Line 964 will no longer start the “Philipp-Schneider-Straße” and “Erft Karree” stops, while three additional trips are planned on line 922 to enable passengers to switch to the commercial area at the “Erft Karree” stop. In addition, the SB92 will drive towards Sindorf/Elsdorf for the crossing Kölner Straße/Hahnenstraße and control the replacement stop "Kolping Center".
In addition, there are changes to the departure times: Line 911 in Brüggen and line 920 in Erftstadt start from Monday to Saturday three minutes earlier. Further information on the diversions and the special timetables can be found on the REVG website, as revg.de
