Weltladen Remscheid celebrates 25 years of fair trade and education!

Remscheid. A very special anniversary is just around the corner! The F (L) Air World Shop, the only one of its kind in Remscheid, celebrates 25 years of successful fair trade! On December 3, 1999, the shop opened its doors in Lüttringhausen after intensive 18 months of preparation. The mission? The support of farmers and craft cooperatives in the global south by selling their high -quality, fairly traded products under professional conditions.

The Ecumenical Initiative e.V. tirelessly campaigned for fair trade and not only achieved profits for the producers, but also achieved important educational work in the global south. This commitment was celebrated last Saturday with a festive ecumenical service in the Evangelical Church of Lüttringhausen, followed by a reception that praised the successes of the past 25 years.

The celebrations are proof of the sustainable effect of the world shop in the region. The initiative not only sold products, but also raised awareness of fair trade practices and promoted the commitment to social justice.
