Blackwork in Remscheid: Hairdressing salons under pressure!

Remscheid. In the last few days, considerable violations of labor law provisions have been determined. During the action week to combat undeclared work, which took place from September 23 to September 27th, several institutions carried out extensive checks. The city of Remscheid now informed about the consequences that resulted from these reviews.

In the case of the grievances found, the city was forced to act immediately. Specifically, two hairdressing companies in Remscheid were prohibited from exercising their work because it lacked a manager. In addition, investigations of possible violations of noticeable obligations are pending in two further companies. Such measures are significant to ensure compliance with the rules in the craft.

focus of the individual control instances was different

The reviews in Remscheid were carried out by various authorities, including the municipal black work of the city, the financial control of undeclared work (FKS) of the main customs office Düsseldorf and the criminal commissioner 32. Each of these committees had different focal points. While the municipal black work control focused on unauthorized commercial exercise, FKS's focus was on the abuse of social benefits and compliance with social security provisions.

Another important element of controls was to check whether foreign employees had the necessary permits and residence permits. Such measures are crucial for the protection of legal standards. Extensive results were also published in Remscheid: In a total of 19 cases, extended exams by the FKS are required. It is worrying that in two cases the suspicion of non -paid statutory minimum wages raises. In addition, there were nine suspected cases regarding the correct termination of social security contributions.

Numerous violations also in NRW

The controls are not limited to Remscheid, but extended across all of North Rhine-Westphalia, where a total of 414 hairdressing salons and barbershops were examined. The emergency services found defects in more than 90 percent of the companies reviewed, especially in the area of occupational safety. Missing risk assessments occurred frequently, and in one case a room had to be blocked due to mold.

Financial control undeclared work initiated not only 18 criminal proceedings, but also 26 administrative offenses, some of which pointed out illegal jobs. But also the general abnormality of suspected cases, with a total of 301 reports due to potential violations of minimum wages and social security contributions, shows the urgency to carry out such controls. The scope and seriousness of the findings illustrate how important the cooperation between different authorities is.
