TC Sterkrade 69 triumphs: championship title in the district league Ruhr area!

On Sunday, September 29th, the boules teams of the district league Ruhr area in Kamen gathered to determine the championship title of the season. On the last matchday of the season, the TC Sterkrade 69 team competed against the team from Recklinghausen-Suderwich. The players fought for every point with remarkable team spirit and the unconditional will.

The hard-fought encounter ended with an impressive 5-0 win for the team from Oberhausen, which the team crowned the team in the 2024 district league. The players of the TC Sterkrade 69 have developed enormously in recent years and are now climbing into the district class, where they want to demonstrate their services and keep the class.

Successful development of the boules department

The Boule Department of TC Sterkrade 69 was founded in 2019 by Jens Brandenburg and Tanja Altrock. At the beginning, the group only counted eight members who went to the boules game with a lot of enthusiasm and joy. The sudden death of Jens Brandenburg in August 2022 presented the young team with great challenges. Nevertheless, the players managed to take a fresh start with their strong cohesion and team spirit.

In the meantime, the boules department has a proud 45 members, 23 of whom have a player license from the boules association with which they can take part in external competitions. This license is important for the players because it enables you to measure yourself against other teams and develop their skills further. The licensed and non -licensed players work together as a common team, which strengthens the club spirit.

2022 was a year full of experiences in which the boules department took part in the league game company of the German Boule Association for the first time. Despite initial successes, the players soon had to face reality and finally took a respectable 6th place in the district league Ruhr area. Some players also took part in qualification tournaments for the NRW championship, which also brought them new experiences. These activities contributed to strengthening the team spirit and promoted the passion for boules sport.

In 2023, the season started with joint tasks on the tc69 boules. The members were able to get to know each other better when the facility and a subsequent barbecue party were greened and let the long winter behind. At Easter, a new Easter hiking cup was launched, which also strengthened the team spirit. After an initially disappointing start of the season, the team's achievements improved until they take the excellent third place in the table at the end of the season.

Construction of new boules tracks and future activities

The summer of 2023 brought exciting developments, including the construction of two new boules tracks, which were built on their own by the active support of the members. The active participation of the boules department at the "Sport im Park" initiative has now established itself as an integral part of the association and made it possible to inspire many newcomers for boules sports.

Another highlight in the event calendar is the upcoming Nikolaus tournament in December, which the members look at with great anticipation. These initiatives and the committed use of the boules department show that the team is not only successful in sports, but also lives community and team cohesion.
