New playground in Hochlarmark: Mayor opened with children festively

A new playground on Professor Knipping-Straße was opened in Reklinghausen, and the enthusiasm among the little visitors was unmistakable. Mayor Christoph Tesche symbolically cut through a red ribbon together with the children, which officially made the event. Despite the heavy rain, numerous families came to explore the new play opportunities and participate in various activities that were offered by the children, youth and family department as well as the cooperation partners.

"The high number of visitors, even with this bad weather, shows how important the playground is as a meeting point for the residents," said Tesche. The old playground not only had traces of sight of the time, but also the wishes of the users were taken seriously in the planning phase. Thanks to a participation process, the ideas and suggestions of the children were able to enter into the redesigned concept, which led to great joy. In particular, the titanium carousel desired by the children was very well received.

investments and offers

The redesign of the playground extended over around 2,700 square meters and cost a total of 190,000 euros. This sum was invested in the new play equipment and seating. Particular attention was paid to a special area for small children. The new game tower inspires with a mini -neutsche, ramps, a sand elevator and other play options that already aroused keen interest at the opening festival.

The support of the project by the Gofus e.V. association, which contributed 10,000 euros, is particularly commendable. Gofus is a non-profit organization that is made up of football-playing golfers and has been active for 18 years to promote play and football sites. During this time, the association has already financially supported 288 projects and thus made a significant contribution to promoting youth. The President of the Association, Norbert Dickel, a well-known football legend from Dortmund, emphasized the commitment of the members.

"Every donation we receive flows directly into the projects. There are no drains," said Manfred Wenster Wenster from Gofus at the inauguration of the playground. The newly designed playground on Professor-Knipping-Straße is the second in the city, which could be renovated with the help of Gofus and his partner Veka/Fenster-Böker GmbH. Doris Böker, a representative of the company, received the second sponsor certificate from the hands of Wenigmann at the celebration, which further consolidated the cooperation between the partners.

The combination of public funds and private support made it possible to create an attractive and safe play environment for children. The new play area on Professor Knipping-Straße therefore offers both leisure options and a social meeting point for the community.
