Paderborn mourns anatolii Andreiev: A hero of Ukraine aid
There is tragic news in the Ukraine conflict: The respected scientist Anatolii Andreiev from the University of Paderborn was killed in the war. The exact circumstances of his death are currently unclear, but the shock wave of his absence meets the university and his colleagues deeply.
Andreiev, who worked at the Institute for Lightweight With Hybrid Systems (ILH), was not only a competent scientist, but also a person with a big heart. Since the beginning of the Ukraine secretary, he has worked tirelessly for the people in his homeland. In a moving funeral notice, it is highlighted by numerous fundraisers that he organized himself to help support people in need.

His commitment was characterized by helpfulness, compassion and extraordinary courage. In 2022, Andreiev initiated a fundraising campaign for medication, followed by another project in which he organized the transport of solar modules from Paderborn to Ukraine. After completing his mechanical engineering in Ukraine, Andreiev came to the University of Paderborn in 2014 as a research assistant. In 2020 he gained his doctorate and left a lasting impression as a highly esteemed colleague, popular lecturer and good friend. His death is a great loss for the university and the community that he supported so passionately.
