Nature Park School Altenbeken: Children discover nature with enthusiasm!
Altenbeken, Deutschland - In Altenbeken, the community primary school shines as a shining example of environmental awareness! The school has successfully established itself as a nature park school thanks to the committed support of experts from the regional forestry office, teachers and partners such as the Sparkasse Paderborn-Detmold-Höxter. This collaboration enables nature park topics seamlessly integrate everyday school life and to inspire the students for the beauty of nature.
Now the coveted certificate "Nature Park School" was awarded again! The solemn occasion took place in the DRIBURGE Grund leisure facility, where a school class full of anticipation was waiting for the hike on the viaduct hiking trail. This 30-kilometer route is hiked in stages by the third and fourth graders, which promotes not only fitness, but also awareness of domestic nature.
award for environmental engagement
Axel Lehmann, leader of the Teutoburg Forest/Eggebirge Nature Park, proudly presented the certificate and a new badge for the school wall. "It is impressive how young people stand up for nature and get to know them with enthusiasm," praised Lehmann. Headmaster Udo Merschmann emphasized the importance of the status "Nature Park School" for the school and the development of children into small environmentalists. Mayor Matthias Möllers also joined the congratulations.
The collaboration with the foresters of forest and wood NRW is highlighted by Roland Schockemöhle, the head of the Hochstift regional forestry office. Förster Frank Florian Bitter is already a popular companion among the students who experiences exciting adventures in the forest with them. Sparkasse Paderborn-Detmold-Höxter also relies on natural and environmental education and actively supports the school in its commitment.
