Schönau. The countdown for the "fifth season" is running! On November 16, the marquee at the Wagenbauhalle in Schönau will become the scene of the traditional prince's proclamation of the Schönau-Altenwenden carnival association. The celebration is made from 7:11 p.m., admission is already from 5 p.m. If you still want to be there, you should hurry - the table reservations are already sold out!

The anticipation is huge! Jonas Hees, the chairman of the association, is confident that there will also be a prince or a couple of princes in this session. "We walk through the tent and take a look who wants," explains Hees. Despite the challenges that other clubs have when finding candidates on the royal throne, he sees no reason to worry in Schönau. "There have always been at least one applicant," he emphasizes.

Framework program and top formations

The guests can look forward to a spectacular supporting program that shines with music and first -class demonstrations. Also included are the "Funky Marys", which have been the most successful women's Cologne formation for over 20 years, as well as the original dance group "Kölsch Hännes'chen 1955 e.V.". The Prince's Guard and the Prince Ballet from New Listenohl are also expected, and DJ Markus Koch creates the right mood. "As always, our youngest will also start," says Hees.

While the preparations are in full swing, the chairman also thinks of the future. The planned new construction of the wagon building hall is on the agenda, even if there are still many bureaucratic hurdles to overcome. "At some point we will have to work in terms of fire protection," says Hees. The old hall, which has existed for over 30 years, could soon be replaced by a new, modern system in order to continue to offer young people an excellent location for dance sport.
