Senior fair in Oberhausen: Colorful conversations for a fulfilling age!
The Oberhausen senior fair has established itself as an indispensable date in the annual calendar of the working group 60 Plus of the SPD. Last Saturday, October 12th, the time had come again: The social democratic senior citizens set up a stand in the Bero-Center to talk to the trade fair visitors. Many visitors took the opportunity to find out more and to discuss directly with the representatives of the AG 60 Plus.
Helmut Brodrick, city councilor and chairman of the Oberhausen senior advisory board, emphasized the relevance of the fair, especially in a society that is getting older. "How can we let the slogan of this fair, 'Age is colorful', without losing sight of the younger generations?" He asked. The topics addressed at the trade fair are diverse and range from quality of life to sensitive questions such as loneliness in old age.
I important impulse providers for the community
In recent years, the AG 60 Plus of the SPD has played a decisive role in political decisions that affect the older citizens in Oberhausen. This is particularly evident in the foundation of the six district offices, which represent a central point of contact for the population. In addition, the working group was significantly involved in the development of the smart house in Sterkrade and is actively working on the senior support plan, which is currently being created in cooperation with the administration.
The AG 60 Plus of the SPD is not only present, but also offers regular events and activities that aim to promote community and social interaction among seniors. Information about upcoming events and the working group itself can be found on the official homepage of the SPD Oberhausen: www.spd-oberhausen.de .
The central theme of the fair is taken into account by the exchange of experiences and opinions. The discussion about the challenges and opportunities of aging is of great importance. This shows that the AG 60 Plus of the SPD is not only a representative of interest, but also actively contributes to the dialogue management in the city.
The commitment of the elderly shows that they are not only passive observers of social change. Rather, they are decisive actors who deal with their reality of life and demand concrete solutions. "The platform offers older people the opportunity to hear and actively participate in social life," says Brodrick.
