RWO fights for 2-2 against Rödinghausen - coach Gunkel satisfied!

An exciting duel in the Niederrhein stadium! After three wins in a row, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen had to be satisfied with a 2-2 draw against SV Rödinghausen. In front of 3,500 enthusiastic fans, the team of coach Sebastian Gunkel showed a strong performance, but the result left a lot to be desired. "I am very satisfied with our performance, with the result only to a limited extent," said Gunkel after the game.

The Oberhauseners had to do without some key players, including Tanju Öztürk, who was missing due to a lock after the fifth yellow card. Despite these setbacks, the team demonstrated morality and fought back into the game in the second half after Luca Schlax missed a penalty. Timur Kesim scored both goals for RWO (14th and 76th minute) and thus ensured the division of points. "The place was not easy to play. We tried anyway, but made it more of a mistake or two more," said Gunkel. "But we still came to score and rewarded ourselves through the 2-2. That is gratifying."

trainer Gunkel sees improvement potential

Although the team had a lot of control over the game, Gunkel noted that the opponents from Rödinghausen acted defensively. "In the end it could have been in both directions," he said. "We have already noticed that Rödinghausen had put it on. And they defended that great." But the trainer remains optimistic: "I believe that we can still take steps when it comes to important duels." Despite the disappointment with the result, Oberhausen remains fourth in the table with two points behind the leader MSV Duisburg and in the race for the upper places.
