Mayor Schranz in dialogue: Seniors are calling for more urban development!
Bistro Jahreszeiten, 46145 Oberhausen, Deutschland - Around 50 older citizens from Oberhausen gathered in Sterkrade on Tuesday, November 5, in the Bistro seasons to comment on their concerns at the first citizen dialogue for seniors with Mayor Daniel Schranz. The event offered a platform to discuss general questions about urban development and specific problems right on your own doorstep. The lively participation shows the great interest of the older generation in the design of your city.
a dialogue for the seniors
Mayor Schranz is known for his dialogue tours, in which he regularly answered questions to the citizens in the districts. But why a special appointment for the seniors? "More than 22 percent of the Oberhauseners are older than 65," said Schranz. "We want to know: come the offers of the city for senior citizens, such as our six district offices, to people - and what else can we do?" This initiative shows the striving for the city to better understand and address the needs of the older population.
Another date for the citizens' dialog is already planned: On Tuesday, December 3, the event will continue in Alt-Oberhausen. This gives the seniors the opportunity to raise their voices and actively participate in the further development of their city.
