Martin trains 2023: A festival of lights and treats in the Oberberg!
In the Oberberg region, the Martin's time is paralyzed with a number of solemn moves! The first trains of light start on November 8th and the anticipation is limitless. The festivities start in Lantenbach at 6 p.m. at the St. Michael Catholic Church! The children move through the town to the fire station with their lanterns, where they can fortify themselves with sausages and hot drinks at the Martins fire.
Another highlight takes place on November 9th: The torchlight procession of the Strombach-Lobscheid fire brigade starts at 5:15 p.m. on Berlitzstraße and ends with a large Martins fire, where mulled wine, cocoa and delicious grill sausages wait for the celebrating ones! On the same evening, a Martin train is also held by the Eichholz citizens' association, which begins at 6 p.m. and leads to a festive campfire. The call to the residents of decorating their front gardens ensures additional festive mood!
Special celebrations in Gummersbach and Lindlar
In Gummersbach, the Martinszug in Dieringhausen attracts November 11th with a warm prayer in the Herz-Jesu church from 5:30 p.m.! There the children can expect a solemn mood with Martin's history, followed by a lantern parade to the fire department, where a large Martins fire is burning. Grill sausages and wake -up men are the crowning glory of this colorful evening!
In Lindlar, the preparations are in full swing for the Martin train on November 9th. The participants gather at the parking lot on the Talstrasse at 6 p.m. and then move to the Bremer's barn, where a festive program is waiting for young and old. The police and volunteers take care of the safety of the guests present.
