Münster, Deutschland - The Stadtwerke Münster announce that the prices for district heating and gas are falling and increasing as part of a current adjustment. From January 1, 2025, the consumption -dependent district heating price will significantly reduce gross 12.42 cents per kilowatt hour, which means a reduction of 4.07 cents. In this context, households with an average consumption of around 13,600 kWh can save around 44 euros per month. This reduction is due to reduced procurement costs for natural gas, the main energy source for district heating in Münster, as the municipal utilities announced in a press release.

In contrast, prices for gas basic supply increase by 6.5 percent. From February 1, 2024, the labor price will be increased to gross 13.51 cents per kilowatt hour, which means additional monthly costs of around 9.19 euros per year for an average household with 12,000 kWh. This happens despite a reduction in the gas price in a different tariff, where the average budget pays by about 5 percent less, but only in the context of existing fixed price contracts, such as reported.
The municipal utilities recommend households in basic care to check the amount of the monthly discount, since these are not automatically adjusted in the event of price changes.
