SSV Germania Wuppertal surprises ASV Mettmann with a 2-1 win!

A shock for ASV Mettmann! The promotion candidate, who traveled to Wuppertal with high hopes, had to give up the penultimate SSV Germania with 2-1. The Wuppertaler, who had previously won once, celebrated an unexpected triumph and scored three important points in the relegation battle. Coach Biniam Ghebremescal can look forward to his first victory!

The Mettmanners started strongly and already had several top-class chances in the first quarter. Mehmet Boztepe and Justin Lüdtke narrowly failed, while Maximilian Steinebach also failed on the post. But the euphoria quickly turned into disappointment when Nico Scary put the Wuppertaler in the lead in the 26th minute. Despite a compensation shortly before half -time through Stonebach, the ASV seemed to lose the thread and could not regain control of the game.

a catastrophic mistake

After half-time it got worse for the ASV: a misunderstanding between goalkeeper Semih Demirhat and defense chief Justus Event was to achieve the 2-1 in the 49th minute. The Mettmanns pushed for the equalization, but the Wuppertal defense withstood. In the final phase, the guests were unlucky again when Adil Azhil met the crossbar and Toni Markovic could not accommodate a header on the net. Imad Grandomairat, the sporting director of the ASV, was stunned: "We should never have lost the game!"

The defeat throws a shadow on the last successful series of the ASV, which has now been brought back to the ground of the facts. The Wuppertal, on the other hand, can breathe a sigh of relief and celebrate an unexpected victory that gives them new hope in the relegation battle.
