Regiobahn informs: Electrification brings the future to Mettmann!

Mettmann, Deutschland - Mettmann | On November 1, 2024, the Regiobahn will inform the citizens about the exciting plans for electrifying their routes! An epochal change is imminent: From December 2026, the diesel age will belong to the past on the 48-kilometer route between Wuppertal and Kaarst. The trains are then operated electrically - a big step into the future!

The first work has already started! At the end of July 2024, the mast was launched at Kaarster See stop, and a total of 730 overhead line masts are installed- both in the ram and drilling process as well as conventional block and level foundations. The regiobahn is ready to prepare the tracks for a greener future!

Citizens' dialogue for electrification

On Wednesday, November 6th, the regibeahn invites all interested citizens to an information event in the town hall. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the team of the Regiobahn, supported by the city administration, will present the schedule and the planned work on electrification in the Mettmann city area. Citizens can learn directly which measures are in the coming months, what impairments are to be expected during the construction work and what this progress means for the future of local public transport!

The employees of the regiobahn are also available for questions about other subject areas of the railway. This is a unique opportunity to get first -hand information about the upcoming changes and actively participate in the discussion!
