Moor protection in the Mettmann district: Now active for our nature!

Langenfeld, Deutschland - An exciting event is imminent! On 7 p.m. , the district house opens its doors for a public discussion event by the nature conservation advisory board. This revolves around the essential role of the bogs in climate protection and the national strategy for your protection. A topic that not only interests experts, but also touches the hearts of the citizens!

Two years ago, the Federal Environment Ministry presented the national moor protection strategy, which is now being actively implemented in the Mettmann district. The Further Moor near Langenfeld, a small Heidemoor, is revitalized by the EU-financed “Atlantic sand landscapes”. Here the Biological Station Haus Bürgel and the Mettmann district restored valuable moor and heath areas. The Hildener Heide also benefits from joint efforts to rehearse and ecologize.
