Fraud warning in Velbert: 89-year-old falls for tricksters

In a worrying incident in Velbert, an 89-year-old man was the goal of a perfidious trick fraud last Thursday. The police reported on Friday about the incident and recently released that this type of fraud stitch is often carried out by professionally acting groups.

The incident occurred at around 11.30 a.m. when the senior was contacted by a supposed employee of his bank by phone. The caller claimed that there was an unsuccessful attempt to withdraw 2000 euros from his account. In order to protect the older gentleman from a supposed fraud, a colleague would be sent to check his checking card.

Details about the fraudster and the circumstances

The manipulation and the pressure that were exercised on the elderly velberter during the conversation led to the fact that, according to the caller, he handed over several checking cards to an alleged bank employee who was waiting at his front door. The senior alerted the police only as a self -doubt. However, nobody was to be found nearby in the search for police vehicle that was initiated.

The pick -up was described by the victim as follows: he was male, between 30 and 35 years old, had a short blond hair, wore glasses as well as a gray coat and trousers.
